“We must embrace pain and burn it as fuel for our journey.” ~ Kenji Miyazawa ~

Is it fitting we are near by Valley of the Gods? I can only hear one message. No worries, no concerns, don’t ruin your present moment…. The winds have died down. Best night sleep I have had in a while. Cool and crisp temperatures, awaken by this wonderful dream this morning in unison with the birds calling and the frogs on their last message from the pond near by.

I dreamed of a phone call. I was told when leaving the clinic the nurse would call me if the results where negative, the Doctor would if positive. The nurse called me in my dream and I woke up so happy and content. It was a moment even if so surreal made it of hope for the best. I try so hard to always believe of a path designed as such. So much we cannot change or fight against even if we so choose wisely our battles, yet “Hope” should always be present.

I now sit here in the shade sipping on my morning coffee. The one and only. The bullfrog has awaken and sounds like a cow with a baritone voice sending out his own message as I wonder, silly me, how many out there in the real world get to hear one, right now, today. I feel slowly sinking back into our element, even if so this is a campground it is the nicest one, “Cadillac Ranch” in Bluff it is called, with the best site, B, with the best shade throughout the late afternoon. The neighborhood is familiar, yet, while riding yesterday with the slight thoughts of "this is nothing new…" I realized I can never get enough of it’s magical landscape and colors and shapes protruding off this Earth of ours in such majestic and imposing arrays.

It is going to be a nice day today. We are going to see some Hoodoos this evening at sunset only locals know about. One more morning as I have stepped into our path even more so than ever. Freedom again has made it’s way within these precious moments. I am moving uphill savoring it all as last evening when faced with the sight of "Recaptured Pocket", it all came back to me realizing that such a stage is my reason for being as such on the road.

The dirt path leading to my new treasure was so perfectly graded. After only one wrong turn the hoodoos appeared right and left, a bit shy at first, a bit as having just given birth to this landscape not quite yet formed and matured. We parked and walked and photographed. We arrived to a bend on the road, a slight hill and as I looked over, there was more, so many, all matured by Father Time. We backtracked and rode another mile or so. And more and more till suddenly in a bowl of rocks the grand prize was awaiting.

I was so taken by this discovery that I started shaking. I could not hold on to the camera and so put it away for us to only stroll amongst such an indescribable setting. Soldiers of time each so individually dressed for the occasion lining the banks of this dead end we had ridden to. Incredible more so from the lack of any other soul present as this was a tip from a kind local. Should this stay a secret location? I only saw one set of tire tracks, horse prints and snakes.

How could this be I was thinking, more beautiful in it’s own composure than anything else I had seen and experienced. I could come and camp here I thought. Not too far from Bluff I could always go to town to replenish what we always need the most: water. The sun was setting slowly behind the hill of this giant cull de sac, I was loosing the light very quickly even if sunset was still a couple hours away. This was a sunrise sight. We will have to come back, it will be not once but I know many times over and over. Food for the soul as this morning I am still riding this wave of contentment, of amazement on how I have stumbled on a such Treasure. It makes this Journey all worthwhile. It takes away the somber clouds which have fluttered lately above me. Thank You Mother Nature…. Thank You….

"I have had a great deal of interest in my photography over the years, for which I am grateful. Their sales are of much importance funding this Journal. Yes, please feel free to purchase one or two… or a few. I have been adding some photos lately, there will be more as I sift through about 100,000 of them. Take a look. Also for merchandise also “Smugmug” stands for quality. For contributions to defer the always rising Internet costs please use the toolbar above. “Zen Gallery” is slowly filling up with new photos. Thank you for your help.”

It seems as though you were able to “let go” of the fear and worry that has been weighing you down. What will be, will be. You can’t do anything until the moment comes when there si something to deal with! Another great lesson you have posted for all of us. XO C

Love the photos as I love nature where I see faces and there were many faces watching you.
