“My  Personal Daily Therapy, published Weekly or so…”

"I will not die an unlived life. I will not live in fear of falling or catching fire. I choose to inhabit my days, to allow my living to open me, to make me less afraid, more accessible, to loosen my heart until it becomes a wing, a torch, a promise. I choose to risk my significance; to live so that which comes to me as seed goes to the next as blossom and that which comes to me as blossom, goes on as fruit."

An ancient Classic from “Steely Dan” found on his Album “Aja”, “Deacon Blue”…

"Terra Explorer" is in the driveway. I am sitting at a table, computer open, phone handy, the shades are closed keeping the ambient air cool. Spirit is laying totally spread out on his folded blanket brought in. A visit to the local Market ensued with some cool and fresh ingredients laid out on the kitchen counter and shelves of the refrigerator. A shower daily, even a mirror. Flush toilet, carpeting for no shoes, a soft and comfy bed even if I am still using my sleeping bag maybe as just a nostalgia, it is all alright I keep thinking. Enjoy the moment. The other side of the coin in this little house [big for us!] tucked in a quiet outskirt neighborhood of an even quieter little village in Northern California. Mc Cloud.

A visit to the Post Office turned out into the most pleasant half an hour spend while the locals gathered taking photos of the hack, or should I say of "Spirit", Mr. Spirit as always posing for the crowds. A stop at the local Hardware Store which I always consider a must needing anything or not end up with a cup of coffee, a square of home made brownie, a donut and more of an entourage while in the parking lot. If only all travelers would take the time to as they say "smell the roses".

We stopped here at Friend’s Home for a couple days. It will turn out to be a week when we leave. The first days were rough. Some serious food poisoning a bit embarrassing being a Chef and while eating smelling and tasting a strange odor and consistency in the present blue cheese. Sometimes I don’t follow that little voice which at times does not speak out loud enough at the time telling me to "send it back". The one always whispering from the right shoulder. My Friend and I ate the same item, the only difference was of mine being topped with such blue cheese. Easy to figure that one out.

So it was a bit of hugging, not the kind I prefer, but the one more intimate with the "porcelain goddess" as my Friend called it. I had to smile at that one. The days are hot here, the nights almost cold and if I call it a "debriefing" it is only because I read that word in one of my light content books that I thumb through before sleep time or just as maybe others would be watching a Movie. One of those books filled with International Spy affairs downloaded on my phone from the free Kindle Books I receive their list every day. I must have over 200 of them stored. One never knows how long we might have to sit in a tent awaiting the end of a present storm. Reading is always Plan B in such occasions.

I am better though today, as my expression goes, "feeling 90% human" again. There is movement of sights and an outlook on the map laid here in front of us. The rides will go on again.

This is all I am sure so "normal" for everyone to live as such. I keep telling myself "it’s all good" and relaxation follows. Such kindness from my Friends to loan us this house with such beautiful surroundings and roads we will I hope start enjoying maybe as soon as this evening when all cools down a bit. The unpaved trails are like mazes around here. Right and left they start from the main road which we took on our way to Big Bend, Big Bend California that is! I wanted to see that what I thought would be a little town but was not.

I truly put “Terra Explorer” to the test on the first gear only unpaved uphills. She performed flawlessly I must say allowing us to branch out on narrower roads where “Old Faithful” and I would have had a bit of apprehension. Passing beautiful Mc Cloud Lake and it’s damn, we tried to stay in the shades as much as possible. HOT is the word passed mornings, and humid. The drawbacks of what I feel this Global Weather throughout some constant changes. A nice ride, a nice experience. We need to come back here in the spring or more likely the fall.

On to Tucson tomorrow morning. The final descent to hotter weather, a bit of house sitting and on September 4th leaving Spirit behind in the hands of his Girl Friend Maya, 2 weeks with my Mother in Munich, Germany. I am so much looking forward to spending some quality time with her and decide a bit of our future. At 85, will she move here? or will we move there?

In my effort to stay on the road “we” now have a T Shirt and Merchandise store. I think you will like it: “Spirited Oasis”
“Smugmug” for Photos and Digital downloads.
The recipes are on the “One~Pan Recipe”
section.

Wishing such weather would be here also! Oh! well… as they say. One must be somewhere sometimes. Enjoy.

Sorry to hear of your latest ills. Sounds as if you need to steer clear of blue cheese! This isn’t the first time you’ve been sick from eating it! I know Big Bend has been seeing quite a bit of rain lately, enough to close some of the roads in the park even. I hope you come home to cooler weather when you do head that way. Thoughts and prayers are with you as you head to see your mom. Some tough decisions ahead, I’m afraid.

  5. Ara & Spirit Says:

No joke on the blue cheese! No more…
Thank you for your good wishes and thoughts always Cindy. The answers of such questions always come in on their own. We have to trust Life… right?
