A “Photo Journal” instead? TX

“A Journey is a person in itself; no two are alike. And all plans, safeguards, policing and coercion are fruitless. We find out that after years of struggle that we do not take a trip; a trip takes us.”
~ John Steinbeck ~

A Photo Journal is a space where words have been replaced by photos. I finally put my finger on what has been missing these past couple weeks following the decision to take a sabbatical from these pages. It is the lack of sharing photos. I think photos in colors, black and whites and all formats from a full frame camera, a phone or lifted from videos are designed to be shared. Hovering the mouse over each photo will show its title.

A Photo Journal is not the same as a Journal with Photos. It doesn’t contain only the best of those times photography. It is the equivalent of the words in pictures leaving the imagination run wild if the viewer cares to do so. A bit as life’s documentary on the road and off the grid.

Lets face it, after nine years, 885 entries and over one million words, I think I have said what I needed to say… even if the thoughts still run wild and lessons present always learned.

A good decision, it seems to me, and a change that seems understandable for you to make. I would only ask that at least from time to time you put a cutline underneath photos so we know, rather than guess, where you are and what you’re photographing. In any case, glad to see you’re back.

Hi Jerry… Nice to see you here.
I know of a few that teach Photography while they have to carry a million dollar liability insurance, pay a high premium to the Park and on and on… rent a large room with projector and so forth!… and charge about $1500 for a few days… Does that sound like fun? I do know a Friend however that gets around all that by advertising “facilitating photography”…
    Hope to see you soon…

Good decision. B&W photography is a great choice. As an avid photography hobbyist, I’ve come to the realization that color, as wonderful as it is, often detracts from the story. B&W causes the viewer to look “deeper”. Thanks for sharing. Godspeed!
