A day at the Dragon Boat Festival in New Iberia, LA
Monday, April 7th, 2014“Why do you go away? So that you can come back. So that you can see the place you came from with new eyes and extra colors. And the people there see you differently, too. Coming back to where you started is not the same as never leaving.” ~ Terry Pratchett ~ [A Hat Full of Sky]
I keep telling myself "this has to stop…". Eating! I cannot however help it. Louisiana’s seafood tastes better than anywhere else. I am told it is the muddy waters of the Mississippi blending in with the Gulf. I believe it. We are here in New Iberia for two more days and daily it has been shrimp and crawfish. Blue point crabs are not yet ready. Maybe a good thing! Mixed with the best French bread ever and topped with ginger cake my pants are tighter than ever. In a couple days we will be back where we started 89 months ago, roughly 2700 nights and days later. The emotions are running wild for sure. I cannot write about it right now. Times are too powerful.
Enjoy the photos from a great day [and more food!] at the Dragon Boats Festival in New Iberia. It was quite a fun time if nothing else taking photos of the various teams members.
Stay well…
