“Only from the Heart can you touch the sky.” ~ Rumi ~

Wrong on the mosquitoes. This might be a new breed strengthened since our last encounter. Deet free spray is barely shying them away, the "Eucalyptus Lemon" is barely working on either of us. Wearing a head net over a cap of course is senseless, they love my neck. At nice fire with much smoke as early as in daytime was as if nothing was burning. I have to wear my thin leather gloves tonight and we are turning in early. Plan B. Tomorrow on to Jackson to buy a full brimmed collapsible hat, 100% Deet spray for clothing and net only, some provisions while we are there. Maybe not the net, I really do not want to breathe that spray.

What a great night sleep. Passed Sunrise, both of us resting those bones. This is our Ritz Carlton! Cool enough in the morning for a wool hat, the mosquitoes where still asleep, the smell alone of coffee was invigorating, drinking it with a bagel peanut butter sandwich was even better. The ride into Jackson was one of those we always dream about, a bit as floating like a cool cloud just cold enough to think "colder… colder…". No traffic yet, that was the surprise for the return trip.

Tetons

Tetons-2

After being in Salt Lake City and Tucson for a couple days or so and introspecting into our Life, as much as this Life of ours has affected us, I have seriously started to wonder how much the Urban path is affecting it’s population. Generally speaking. It was accentuated today when returning on the then busy road when a left turn signal meant a right turn and a right a left, or a sudden turn with no signal at all, when a sudden stop in the middle of the ongoing lane while a squirrel crossed meant for the passenger to then get out of the vehicle and snap some shots leaving also their door wide open, or kinder at times only opening the sunroof when available as they extracted themselves up to take that shot, tailgating to no end, (glad I have purposely a set of bright lights facing rearward for that purpose), and on and on, can I use the word "idiotic"?

I am not, trying not to anyhow, taking sides, yet I know and apply a certain behavior when myself in a City. An Urban-counter attention to the road and everything that my sight will notice. These folks in return have here lost total sense of logic, right doing and courtesy. They seem as escaped convicts tasting their freedom for the first time in their lives totally ignoring even a close resemblance of safety on the road. Watch out for the rental RV’s. Those are as loose cannons having lost total concept of driving with only the pedal to the metal going through their 8 miles to the gallon speeding mobile condos. It must be the reason the rental companies have painted them with murals depicting a nice smiling family on their exterior. I even noticed two kids wallpapered on the side exit door waiving and smiling! One stopped at a look out and while the Mother was exiting with her two kids I gently told her that she forgot the “two waiving”. She laughed.

Ok, I feel better, I let it out. We generally avoid National Parks as also Dogs as we know are not allowed on trails and if so happens, it is only because Spirit is a Service Dog, Person really. On the other hand they are so welcomed into State Parks. Maybe different breeds of wildlife since that is their excuse for the ban. Of course paving roads and allowing the 50 foot smoking Tour Buses by the dozen does never affect such wildlife. Right.

But enough of that as we are camped right on the Snake River where traffic is inexistent, not even a cell signal and only the sweet sound of the river flowing with no beginning and no end. "Adventure Trio" should be here anytime, we have food, water, good weather, what more can we ask for?

"I have had a great deal of interest in my photography over the years, for which I am grateful. Their sales are of much importance funding this Journal. Yes, please feel free to purchase one or two… or a few. I have been adding some photos lately, there will be more as I sift through about 100,000 of them.
Take a look. “Smugmug” stands for quality. Thank you”

Summertime in National Parks: Do most people forget their brains at the entrance of these parks? I try to avoid those places like the plague during the summer. As you know, best time is before or after summer vacations.

I can totally relate to your comments on the rental RVs. I do appreciate the fact that the rental companies have painted murals on the side and added other indentifying markings. For the companies, it’s advertising. For everybody else, it’s a warning like “Student Driver” signs on cars.
