The Oasis is my "think tank". It has been days, weeks, written words are just not taking shape. An incredible storm throughout the night, much thunder, lightning which I could taste and smell, much rain, all reminded me of my thoughts shaken to no end in this bag of Life. It is as the thoughts are fighting amongst each other not wanting to line up in a logical order to be pronounced. The fork in the road is still staring at me. My head hurts from all of this too often. More thefts around us makes me feel unsecure with the little we have here, yet, it is ours and I cannot lose any of it again. It is too early to leave and at the same time, too late to leave! How about that as a giant thumb has blocked all the exits. It won’t be long however. The pieces of the puzzle are slowly forming a likable image in front of me. My vision of what awaits us is getting clearer by the day. Almost crystal clear…

As always, your pictures are as powerful as your words.

It’s sad that you cannot leave without the thought of ‘theft’ hanging in the back of your mind. Especially since the event happened, it opens new possibilities. I wonder if it was the case of someone following your blog and knew you were a long way away from “the oasis”?? Were you able to recover your stolen solar equipment?

I look forward to your new plans that are currently forming in your mind. Yet, I cannot see you leaving that area, it’s nice.

I would be in the same situation and have thought about it from where I leave. That is not the reason for my lack of travel. I’ve blogged about those reasons and why they are delayed.

    Beautiful photos as usual.

    Good photos…..again and again.

    Hi Ara & Spirit,
Still traveling with you since 2008! What a journey of beauty, laughs and tears, and great times spent with you & Spirit in Montana and at the Oasis! The camper needs occasional repairs, now that we have been traveling in it since 2010, when it was new and we drove up into the Gravelly Range with you.
We just returned from a visit with my mother (93) in North Carolina. She fell seriously ill with viral encephalitis, the mosquito borne type. She’s now in a nursing home, very weak and sleeps much of the time. Just three weeks ago she was still working in her yard and riding her bicycle to help a neighbor who is in a wheelchair. My sister is with her now and will bring her to live with her and her husband when she can travel, which she is unable to do right now.
Randy doing great with new knees and looking forward to more travel.

    Take care, you two,

    Pam

Hi Steve… 3 more burglaries these past two weeks. I have this place up for sale and while emptying it we will get back on the road in the middle of next month. Sad and will be relieved all at the same time. Yes, new safer plans! Must adapt as we always have. Have a great day. Ara and Spirit

  6. Caddie Says:

Yes, this is very sad and also sickening, Ara. Burglaries I’ve experienced over the years certainly put a crimp in my mind about humanity.
Today the surrounding area has become a nest of ‘drugheads’ out looking for means to get their next fix. I haven’t the choice to leave my home and seek shelter elsewhere and legal authority appears to only sit on their butt as anything stolen remains so. In time, age puts us in a vulnerable position, especially when one is alone and without support from others. My hope for your future is peace and safety so you and Spirit may enjoy the time you have left to ride the roads in freedom. I almost envy your style; then realize it’s only my long dream. The best to you, Sir, in your days ahead, the very best.
